Mediation Labo studies on relationship between theories and practices of mediation.

Though Japan has a long history of court-annexed mediation (or conciliation) and Japanese societies tend to have consensus-oriented cultures, the idea is quite new that mediation is a way to facilitate communication among parties and help them to make a self-determination fully.

We introduce concept of mediation training in Japan and study how Japanese accept new notion of peace-making system.
